Why this project exists

Most solar O&M knowledge lives in WhatsApp groups, scattered PDFs, and the heads of a few experienced engineers. When those people leave a project, the lessons leave with them. This site is an attempt to fix that: a field journal for the people who actually keep distributed PV plants running in South Africa, written in plain language by someone who has been inside the switchgear.

Adani Renewables started as a small O&M crew working on distributed solar PV sites across South Africa. We kept running into the same problems: inverter fault codes that made no sense without context, string designs that looked fine on paper but tripped on cold mornings, and compliance paperwork that nobody could explain clearly.
